Nasiru Gawuna, the Kano State All Progressive Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 general elections, has formally decamped from the Party.

In a resignation letter dated March 29, 2026, and addressed to the APC Chairman in Gawuna Ward, Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Gawuna said his decision to leave the party was “Voluntary and personal.”
“I hereby formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 29, 2026,” he said .

Reports indicated that, he is set to join the ADC.

Although, Gawuna has been quoted on several occasions, crying that he has been sidelined by the Federal Government under Bola Tinubu administration, inspite of his contribution to the success of the party in the 2023 elections.

Although lately Gawuna was appointed Head of the Bayero University governing Council, which was later replaced with the Chairman board Federal Mortgage Bank his running mate, Murtala Sule Garo, was not considered for any substantial appointment. He had resigned from the appointment.

Recently, Gawuna was seen hobnobbing with Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and held several meetings with the leader of Kwankwasiyya, which apparently may culminate into joining ADC, the new party for Senator Kwankwaso.

After resigning, Gawuna however was not clear about his next line of actions but all pointers are heading towards him joining the ADC
